Sisterhood and belonging
House System
Our House System creates a strong sense of belonging and sisterhood and provides a loyal support network of girls who go above and beyond for each other.
Generations of students at St Peter’s Girls have belonged to one of four Houses: Kennion, Kilburn, Patteson or Selwyn.
Our House System is an integral part of the fabric of St Peter’s Girls. Students are welcomed into one of our four School Houses, creating an immediate sense of connection, belonging and community. Led by dedicated Heads of House, the House system plays a central role in the pastoral care and wellbeing of each student throughout her time at the School. For decades, these four Houses have inspired healthy rivalry through academic, sporting and cultural competitions.
The House system provides students with opportunities to build friendships across year levels, participate in School traditions, and contribute to a vibrant and supportive community. Through activities including House events, service initiatives, sporting competitions and celebrations, students develop a strong sense of camaraderie, pride and School spirit. House events include Choral Night, Sports Day, Swimming Carnival, Interhouse Competitions, House Dinner and Spirit Week, as well as charitable activities, demonstrating our passion for service learning.
Our House system supports the holistic development of each student and aims to:
- Foster a strong sense of belonging and connection within the School community
- Encourage students to contribute positively to School life and the wider community
- Develop qualities such as courage, compassion and integrity
- Promote positive relationships across year levels and between students and staff
- Celebrate the unique strengths and talents of every student
- Provide guidance, encouragement and support through all stages of a student’s journey
- Support students’ academic, social and emotional wellbeing
Through the House system, Saints Girls students are empowered to thrive as confident, capable and connected young women.
