Building Works Update

Building works at St Peter’s Girls are in full flight as a suite of projects take shape.

Our new Science Centre has reached a significant milestone with the successful installation of the roof, keeping the project on track to open in Term 4.

Once we move into the Science Centre, our existing Science facility will be transformed with a new IT hub, a dedicated space for media production, as well as additional new classrooms for our Junior School. Following those upgrades, classrooms along the Junior School corridor will be refurbished and new breakout spaces will be created including plans for a deck overlooking Ferguson Park.

As we know, there has never been a better time to be at Saints Girls and the future is even brighter as we deliver these transformational building works.

Master Plan - The Next Challenge

Following a comprehensive review of facilities, the School’s Master Plan, The Next Challenge: Building for Tomorrow, was launched in July 2015.

Already, the School has successfully completed the first five projects: expanding our Early Learners' Centre, increasing parking spaces and access to additional sporting facilities in Bell Yett Reserve, installing high speed network services to boost online learning, building a new Middle School and opening a new Library.

Now, we are thrilled to build project number six:

Science

The Science upgrade and expansion has all the elements for success.

A new Science Centre between the Stott Wing and the Visual Arts building will feature:

  • 7 Science laboratories
  • Large preparation areas
  • Breakout and collaboration spaces

Works began in 2018, with the opening planned to coincide with our 125th anniversary later this year.

Project six will cement Saints Girls as a national leader in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), allowing students to experiment, explore and excel.

Problem-solving and critical thinking will come to the fore as the facilities enhance a range of contemporary learning styles, blending theory and practice.

Science at St Peter's Girls' School will make every day a new discovery.
