Sophie Linn (Year 11) and Margaret Gayen (Year 12) were the only two South Australian females selected to be part of the Australian athletics team who competed at the Isle of Man Commonwealth Youth Games in the international event. Both the girls returned home with medals. Sophie won a silver medal in the 1500m and placed 8th in the 3000m final. Margaret gained a bronze medal in the Long Jump and the 4 x 100m Relay and finished 5th in the final of the 100m Hurdles. Unfortunately for Margaret, she clipped a Hurdle with a toe which resulted in a stumble and dropping back from 2nd to 5th place. These are stunning results from two of our most talented athletes!
